Join us for a trip down the river as we investigate some of nature’s very best architects and engineers! From the beaver to osprey to the lesser known caddis fly and Native American fish weir—participants will get to examine and hypothesize about these builders and the incredible structures they create.
Designed for Ages: 5-11, although children outside this age range are welcome to attend.
A museum educator from the Children’s Museum of NH will lead children in a hands-on, exciting, informative and nature engineering filled presentation—with a focus on the stunning designs of buildings, homes, and innovative tools found along rivers in New England.
This hour-long program on Friday, August 11 at 1:00 PM will wrap-up with every participant building their own osprey nest platform that will actually hold weight—with plenty of time to test and re-design their creation. We’ll be making osprey nests and mini osprey birds as well.
Thank you to the Friends of Griffin Free for sponsoring this program!
