Griffin Free Public Library – Auburn, NH

Homebound Program

The Griffin Free Public Library Homebound Program is designed to help people who cannot get to or use the library due to long-term injury, physical disability, or transportation issues (including inability to drive in winter weather). The library is currently seeking participants who would like library materials delivered to their door once or twice per month. Here’s how it works:

  1. Fill out the form below and mail it or deliver it to the library, or submit it by email. If you would prefer, you can call us and we’ll take your information over the phone.
  1. Once processed, we will notify you of your enrollment in the program, and arrange selections of what you want and a delivery schedule.
  1. A pair of our volunteers or staff will visit you according to the schedule we have arranged. We will even provide you with a library bag to keep all your materials in one place.

This is a completely free service offered by Griffin Free Public Library in order to provide library service to as many residents of Auburn as possible. We use existing materials, volunteer time, and grant funds to sustain this program. If you care to donate or volunteer in support of the program, please notify the library director, at 483-5374.

FAQ:

What materials are available through this program?

All materials housed at the library are available for checkout through the Homebound program. That includes large print and regular print fiction, nonfiction, children books, DVDs, audiobooks, current magazines (past 6 months to 1 year), jigsaw puzzles, and past issues of magazines (which can be kept rather than returned).

How many items can I check out through the program?

For deliveries every two weeks, the limit is 10 items. For deliveries every four weeks, the limit is 20 items. Free magazines do not count against your item limits.

Can I change my delivery schedule?

Absolutely. We do need some notice to arrange for our volunteers, but we are happy to talk to you anytime about changing the frequency or delivery day/time if you have a schedule change, or if you need to skip a delivery for any reason.

If you or someone you know might benefit from this service, we encourage you to fill our or registration form as soon as possible and return it to us so that we can sign you up for delivery. Forms are available at the library, or download it here: GFPL Homebound Registration.
